Boys' Latin of Philadelphia Charter High School Presents
Pill Hill
By Samuel L. Kelley
Pill Hill by Samuel L. Kelley is a powerful drama that follows a group of African-American friends from Chicago as they grow from early adulthood over the course of ten years, confronting the realities of race, class, and ambition. Set against the backdrop of the city's working-class neighborhoods, the play explores how dreams of escaping to Pill Hill -- a symbol of success and upward mobility -- clash with the harsh truths of economic struggle, personal sacrifice, and identity. Through humor, conflict, and reflection, Kelley examines the cost of progress and the bonds that hold communities together even as individuals strive to rise above their circumstances.
Pill Hill is produced by special arrangement with The Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois.
